Eriko Ikeda Kay is a Japanese-English translator with a focus on modern and contemporary art and literature.

As an art translator, Eriko works with clients ranging from art museums and research institutions to commercial galleries and art festivals on exhibition catalogues and essays, interviews, academic articles, and video, film, and performance artworks.

In 2023, Eriko was selected to participate in the British Centre for Literary Translation (BCLT) Summer School at the University of East Anglia, where she and eleven other translators co-translated Kaori Fujino’s short story “P-Pod,” published by Words Without Borders.

Eriko holds a B.A. (magna cum laude) from Harvard University in Visual and Environmental Studies and Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, and an M.A. from Waseda University in Japanese literature. She lives in Tokyo with her husband and their cat Mocchan.
